Equipment Management: Auto-Track Lifespan & Repack Cycles
Equipment condition is directly tied to safety. FlyWise automatically tracks each item's cumulative hours and inspection cycles and warns you ahead of replacement or repack time.
Registering equipment
Add your glider, harness, and reserve from the Equipment menu. Enter manufacturer and model via catalog autocomplete, then set size, purchase date, lifespan hours, and so on.
Tracking cumulative hours
When you link a wing to a logged flight, that flight's airtime is automatically added to the equipment's cumulative hours. No need to track time separately.
Maintenance items and cycles
You can register maintenance items — lines, risers, and periodic inspection for a glider; carabiners for a harness — and set an inspection cycle (in hours) for each. As hours accumulate per item, FlyWise tells you when a check is due.
Reserve repack reminders
For a reserve, set the last repack date and cycle (typically 6–12 months) and you'll get a dashboard reminder as the next repack approaches.
Status at a glance
Each item and maintenance task is color-coded good · due soon · overdue, so you immediately know what to check first.
No longer using a piece of gear? You can archive it without deleting your flight records. For general lifespan guidelines, see the equipment lifespan guide.
